Intraoral Camera Capture User Guide

Intraoral Camera Capture User Guide

This guide helps dental clinics set up and use Intraoral Camera Capture with a compatible USB intraoral camera and dental imaging software.

1. Before you start

  • Use a Mac running macOS 12 or later.
  • Connect your compatible USB intraoral camera directly to the Mac.
  • Make sure your dental imaging software is installed and can capture with a keyboard shortcut.
  • Keep your camera and imaging software open for the first test.

2. Install and open the app

  1. Install Intraoral Camera Capture from the Mac App Store.
  2. Open the app from Applications or Launchpad.
  3. When prompted, allow the app to run in the background.
  4. Turn on Open at login so the camera button is ready whenever the workstation starts.

3. Allow Accessibility permission

macOS requires permission before an app can send a keyboard shortcut to another application.

  1. Open System Settings on the Mac.
  2. Go to Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
  3. Enable Intraoral Camera Capture.
  4. If the app was already open, quit and reopen it after enabling permission.

4. Choose the capture shortcut

Intraoral Camera Capture sends a keyboard shortcut when the camera button is pressed.

  • Choose a preset if your imaging software is listed.
  • Use Custom if your clinic uses a different shortcut.
  • Match the shortcut to the capture command configured inside your dental imaging software.

5. Test the workflow

  1. Open your dental imaging software.
  2. Open the capture or camera screen in that software.
  3. Select the matching preset or custom shortcut in Intraoral Camera Capture.
  4. Press the physical button on the intraoral camera.
  5. Confirm that the imaging software captures or advances as expected.

6. Subscription and trial

The app includes a 14-day free trial. After the trial, an active annual subscription is required for capture. Plans are workstation-based, so each active workstation should have the correct subscription tier.

If your clinic needs more than 10 workstations or needs help replacing a workstation, email cs@prodentshop.com.

7. Support registration

Support registration helps ProDENT identify your clinic and provide technical support. It is recommended for both trial and subscribed users.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Confirm the camera is connected to the Mac.
  • Confirm Intraoral Camera Capture is open and shows ready status.
